i realize that elric, and maybe tanis and mike, are the only ones that will really get this in its full proportion, but im starting a project, and would like some input.
im starting an os design and coding it.
granted, im a long ways away from a full implementation of an os with gui, but im starting small, bootloaders and such, and moving along from there.

this will probably be coded in c, c++, or obj-c. probably either c or obj-c as c++ is a pain in the neck. depends on how far i want to go learning the libraries and implementations... c has the raw power, obj-c is the best coding language to date imho.
it will be hardware specific, in the beginning stages, as i dont want to code for any machine but my own and maybe the schools lab boxes, so i probably wont be able to share anything but screenshots and such, which, considering screenshots in a bootstage arent possible, might be limited for a while.

suggestions?

I have yet to take the Operating Systems class at my university. I think I take it next year when I am a senior.

Same as Tanis, I don't take OS design till my final semester and even then it is only one of several options I have for a senior elective.

Gl thou.
