I really enjoyed this movie. Just a pleasant, feel good movie.

Something new and different from what he has already done in almost eery movie he's made. I grew tired of Denzel playing an angry black man a very long time ago. I can enjoy the same kind of movie being regurgitated from a good actor, but that isn't Denzel Washington!

Live, Die, Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow.

Dances on the line that separates good sci-fi from cheesy Hollywood action but does a really nice job growing attachments to the characters. Unique aliens and limited special effects make this an all around fun movie that I would watch more of.

i didn't like the ending of this one because the climax was the ending instead of the normal movie storyline progression.

also did people like interstellar? i loved it and would recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

havent seen it, nor Lucy, but theyre on my list.

Over the last few months i re-watched/watched a lot of movies:

The entire Alien series, including Prometheus. I hadnt watched Alien since i was a kid and never watched Aliens continuously and all the way through. The rest of the series was new to me.
-All the Alien movies were done by different directors. Ridley Scott only did the OG Alien and Prometheus, while other already-famous directors were given the movies after Alien along with much freedom in style and type of their film. Each film has a different feel from the others.
-Alien and Aliens were both great. I dont think Aliens is nearly as bad as i've heard some people say. It wasn't as suspensful, but it was good in its own way.
-Alien 3 was terrible and Resurrection was meh. I liked the concept but it was very flawed and full of plot holes.
-Prometheus, while flawed and with some plot holes of its own, was good. I am really looking fwd to the sequel. I don't think the hate it received was justified, either.

The Interview:
If you like any of Seth Rogan's/Evan's previous movies youll love it. It's definitely worth the watch even without the controversy.

War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise):
I loved 90% of it. Absolutely HATED the ending. pissed me the fuck off. Loved the settings and the flow worked well for most of it. The ending felt extremely rushed and story-book, which didn't fit with the lengthy journey and un-story-book-like rest of the movie. More suspenseful than i ever expected. I came in thinking it'd be a massive michael bay-esque over-the-top action flick. It's nothing like that at all, and for the better.

Wes Anderson filmography:
Started with Bottle Rocket and went in order up through Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Anderson's speed works well in other movies because they feature much more dry humor and/or irony. We still have his new movies to finish and I've never seen any of them. Some great reviews for a few. The pacing of his flicks makes it hard for me to watch many back to back, so we've been taking it slow.
Bottle Rocket- The more I think back on it the more I find myself enjoying it. It really had to grow on me. It's a little too slow and you can just begin to see the dry humor and irony that really blossoms in his later flicks.
Rushmore- one of jess' favorite movies. Definitely had the weird and dry humor going on. Lots of incredibly awkward moments. Not my favorite, but interesting.
Royal Tenenbaums- Love this movie and it only got better after rewatching in HD for the first time. The cast is brilliant. Gene Hackman was a terrific asshole.
Steve Zissou- Bill Murray's largest Anderson role as he makes the entire movie. Loved it.
Next up in reverse order (i think Jess wants to skill Fantastic Mr Fox):
2014 The Grand Budapest Hotel
2012 Moonrise Kingdom
2007 Hotel Chevalier (Short- prologue to Darjeeling Limited)
2007 The Darjeeling Limited

I have a love/hate relationship with Wes Anderson. I really can't get into most of his movies...I dunno, the style just rubs me the wrong way. Yeah, Royal Tenenbaums is a classic.

That being said, Moonrise Kingdom is a brilliant movie and easily my favorite of his.

I don't remember the ending in the movie but it is based on a book.

Bernie- based on recent history. Stars Jack Black. Worth a watch.

Europa Report- also worth a watch. More science than science-fiction.

St. Vincent

Bill Murray kills it in this movie! Check it out. It's kinda like Gran Turino but...different.
