GRID

Postby Jif » Tue Oct 14, 2008 4:38 am

so unfortunately ive had a good amt of free time lately and have been gaming way more than desired. so i made this quick gameplay vid of GRID (i accidentally hit the fraps record hotkey so i compressed it and here it is)

im driving a Viper SRT/10 which is kinda OPed for this circuit and it was my 2nd time on this track ever and there's no real ending cause i restarted the race.

You drive like Sonic does in NFS:U

Pretty nice game though! The fraps quality is nice too, I can never seem to get good quality captures.

You use traction control in a racing game? Dosent that mean you cant pull up the e-brake around tight turns?

i dont like using any of the assists but with traction control off you cant even drive in a straight line above 6-7k rpms depending on the car. you fishtail all over the place and have to ease into the gas just to hit the redline. im not sure why it does this at all. it's not like flooring it in neutral then hitting 1st gear and burning out, it's like burning out just by flooring it in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc...maybe i really suck i dunno. without TC i cant even think about 1st gear at all. i actually have to start in 3rd just to drive in a straight line without swerving.

there's no upgrading cars' parts at all so it's not like you can get better tires or a smoother clutch/flywheel or anything.

Check out Test Drive Unlimited.

It's a decent game, except for the cops.

it's got a toggle to switch b/w digital and analogue but i dont think it works under Vista64. it's an older controller and the rumble doesnt work in Vista. i think it's only doing digital.
