i dont like SAW/Hostel-type movies. im not against the content really, just the moods of those movies. they make me all tight inside with angst and my heart never stops pumping and it's just too much. if they had the gore without the stressful atmosphere i would watch them.

the only thing that offends me in movies is nonchalant global warming references (seriously).

I agree 100%, it's probably the most violent movie I've seen in a long time. Hostel comes close...if you've ever seen that.

See, Hostel doesn't bother me as much. And to name one we both saw recently, Taken. Taken even implied rape, and it got me steamed, but in the end he gets revenge for him and the others. The thing that struck me about The Hills Have Eyes was that, even though I was sure it would most likely be redeemed somehow, for that scene it seemed totally gratified. It's almost like that age old thing when you hear someone say, "Wouldn't it be funny if there was an action hero movie where the action hero gets it in the end?" Well, this movie felt like a movie for people wanted that. I half expected there to be no retribution.

In the end, I just really can't stomach rape, and this movie had it in the worst possible sense.

fuck man (yeah i know im online holy shit) i know what you mean. taken is the perfect one, and i came up with my bus theory.

dude goes to all the trouble of getting his kid back, and right when she runs across the street to hug her mom, my first thought was that a bus should come out of nowhere and plow her over. no brakes, no nothing, just neeoow smoosh.

any movie can be made better by having one of the important main characters be hit by a bus in the last 5 minutes.

The hangover

watched it and for all the hype, wasn't that funny. If you're going to see it because of the funny shit in the trailers, don't, because those are the only funny parts
