I liked avatar, it would've been cool to see it in 3d but I think it's still a good movie with a semi-important message. I.e. "americans" (with quotes) can't just take what they want with no respect for anybody/anything.

But the same goes for anybody - like China with no greenhouse gas controls (the only example I can think of now)

funny people, as the title might suggest, there are some funny people in this movie, and if the movie were completely based on that, it probably wouldve been better.
the beginning was pretty good. nice start to a movie is always a plus, laying down some grounds for the rest of the movie.
then the middle set in, and not like a nice set-in of sunshine or something, more like the set-in that you get on the city bus when a really large person sits next to you, or you contract a horribly boring disease: it just gets awkward. that continues for about an hour.
than the end comes along, and if a good idea made the movie the end wouldve been great, but whoever wrote it was obviously drooling on the floor, comatose, so the ending was kinda... meh.

overall, not bad, funny parts, but only if you can make it through the rest.

the idea of the movie, though, seemed realistic, especially how it ends. there wasnt any of the classic chick-flick happy couple leave their spouses and get together, and i thoroughly appreciated that.

i get the feeling that the majority of my posts in this thread are going to be white...

i figured that what i said would be enough, considering the shallowness of the plot, to give away what little there was. i know perfectly well how spoilers work.
as the red text at the top says, this may contain spoilers, or it may not, and for the sake of being courteous, im whiting out what i write, just in case someone comes along and doesnt want to watch the movie influenced by what i write.

Meh, personal preference I guess.

I see what Jif is saying, but then again there are some people who don't like to know what happens at all until they watch the movie themselves.
