A company by the name of World.com holds the patent for MMOs.
They are currently targeting NCSoft as their first target.

As a little comfort based on what I've researched I ahve two bits of good news.
A) The patent should be rejected:

B) The suit was moved out of austin texas and into California one of the central Hubs of MMOs in the World.
