Vent payment

Postby Darkfoxx » Wed Sep 22, 2010 7:46 am

Apparently our Vent server just auto-renewed itself, so if it's not too much to ask...I'd appreciate it if peeps threw in like $5 to the Paypal for the server. It was $53.95 total for the year.

well, first off it doesnt look like hell anymore. its pretty easy to get used to, when i was connecting to flumpsters' guilds teamspeak it took me about 5 seconds to figure out how to connect.
the layout is really simple, and there are some neat features. one of the biggest i noticed: its kinda like they put an irc on the top of the voip channels, the channels you are in are also channels that you can type into, so you can send global messages to the server, or to your channel and whatnot. there is an uploading thing thats pretty neat, where you can upload files temporarily to the teamspeak itself for people to grab. you can connect to multiple servers at the same time and listen to both of them (you can still only talk into one at a time, but thats common sense...)
theres some other stuff, but i dont have it open right now, so i dont really remember.

Shit comes down to money, IMO.

If I'm able to get 15 slots of TS3 cheaper, would you guys be opposed to switching? This is also contingent if I can get my money back from NFO for the Vent server that just auto-renewed (goddamnit, why do they do that?).

We could also test out TS3. I think the server program is free and I could throw it up on my VPS tonight.

Yeah I'm installing ts3 on my server atm. I'll have us test it later on. I'd host it permanently, but I don't know how much longer I'll have the server...

Going to stick with Vent for now.

Still need another $10 - $15 and I'll cover the rest.
