auto log in
For some reason, I have to sign in as a user to this site everytime I log on. I don't know why but it's the only site I have to.
I type a bunch of shit then people go fuk themselves
Re: auto log in
I've noticed this for the past many years, but it's only on certain systems. My Macbook, for example, never automatically logs in. Yet every Windows PC I've ever used will do it just fine.

Re: auto log in
This site has never saved my login information. Be it Mac or PC. Firefox, Chrome or IE. I have never had the pleasure of not seeing the login page.

Re: auto log in
cool ive been wondering about this since starting my new job. I've never had a problem of the browser auto-logging me in until working at my current job. This dates back to Vista + Firefox, Win7 + Firefox, and now Win7 + chrome. the only "computers" i've ever used to consistently check the forums that refuse to auto-logon are at work - my iMac running 10.8.3 w/ latest Chrome and the VM on it- Win7 + latest chrome. What's odd is that I sign into Chrome to sync bookmarks, history, and cookies, so chrome should automatically know the forums and my username/password, but it refuses to do it. If i sign into Chrome on another computer, chrome would automatically sync everything and i'd be able to visit the forums, be prompted to log in, and have my username and p/w already filled in. Once i do this once, i will be permanently signed in and will almost never have to re-log. That's how it's been for me since forever. When i migrated from Firefox, I had chrome import favorites, history, and cookies, so i didnt even have to manually enter in my credentials for the forums then!
What's even weirder is that most other sites I log into had their cookies/credentials synced properly. it's just the forums not working on this one computer + VM.
also, i tried clearing cookies and temp files for this domain on my Windows VM and it didn't make a difference. I would consider clearing cookies and temp files "since the beginning of time" but I'm afraid it would wipe my sync'ed shit. I use different google accounts for my home and work chrome settings/sync, so maybe it wouldnt be a bad idea.

Re: auto log in
Never had this problem
Re: auto log in
Because it's per user (and possibly per system....ish?), there's really nothing I can do. I'm not seeing any correlation at all between all you guys, which is very weird when it comes to a software problem.
phpBB is working on a new release. It upgrades from the 3.0.x platform to 3.1.x. I've had this issue on other phpBB forums so I'm pretty sure it's a valid bug in their system.
That being said....
I've implemented some changes that basically force your browser to use certain cookie settings if your browser is derping out and doing its own thing.
Clear your cookies and shit and relog in and check the autologon box. Report findings here.
