1st and 3rd newegg links are 7.1 and 5.1 headsets = shitty sound
creative generally isnt that good, though most Fatality-branded products are generally decent regardless of the brand.

this is by FAR the best headset under $100. the cans themselves are fantastic, better than most headphones over $100. my bro ordered them at my suggestion after i read reviews of audiophiles with $300+ headphones claiming these $40 Koss' almost sound as good. my bro loves em and i was going to buy myself a pair before the jvc rx700s came out. the mic on the SB40s, however, is not so great. http://www.amazon.com/Koss-SB40-Compute ... i have a stand mic. works fine for me. i know it pics up external sounds more than a headset but that's because i use my speakers during the day. if you have good speakers, a headset is inconvenient if you want speakers + vent.

1st, off I thought virtual 7.1 was different than 7.1 like you said earlier.
I am now looking at two options:

#1 I came very close to posting the Koss SB45 which is the SB40 predecessor with a better mic. found here:

#2 I might get the headphones you posted and buy a sort of detachable mic.
