I thought of something for next year...

We take a bit of the prize money (say $10-20) and use it for the winner of the "League Pick'em" feature (League > League Pick'em). Hardly anyone uses this now except me and I'd like to encourage people to submit their picks every week. Adding a prize for 1st place will encourage this.

Let me know what you think.

From my other league that has a $25 buy in:

-Prizes-
1st place winner - 110
2nd place - 50
3rd place - 25
Division Winners - 5 (each)
Highest scoring game of the regular season - 5
Biggest blowout game of the regular season - 5
Survivor Contest - 15 (each week the team with the lowest score that is still in the race is eliminated until only one Survivor remains)
Weekly high score - 5 (new winner each week)

Yeah it's twelve teams. I was just showing an example. Personally if there are more chances for me to win, I am more likely to play. If it ends up being a coin toss, then it's harder to put money down. I've already committed to the $20 for this league and I am fine with that. I would most likely do it again next year. If there are more chances to get your money back a la "league you pick em" or whatever it is, it would entice me more to put more money in.

To clarify, most other pay leagues don't lock *rosters* at 1pm on Sunday but all Free Agents go onto the waiver wire. I misspoke when I said "lock the rosters". The idea is that you plan out your team, do your homework, and keep an eye on shit during the week (like at work) and then make last minute adjustments, check injury ins/outs Sunday morning, and then sit back and monitor your points all day. If you need to go on vacation, will be out of town, or will be unable to watch game(s) or be without data access for the bulk of Sunday then it won't put you at a massive disadvantage to those sitting at home on the couch with a laptop and NFL red zone (ie- me). The FA waivers would expire Tuesday morning where waiver claims are processed on players with waiver claims and all the rest because Free Agents able to be immediately added to a roster.

I can totally see where doing this could be a good thing. That being said, I don't really care one way or another. If we do change it to this can we change the waiver order to reset each week?

I prefer the game time waiver system (players go on waiver at the start of their game and are on waivers for like 2 days or so)

I prefer the Weekly standings or the weekly order with a continuous list.

In order to balance the playing field for everyone involved, players should go on waivers as soon as their game starts and clear waivers at a per-determined time during the week. I feel, next season, this change will be essential, considering this is a pay league.

However, the key words are "next season". Under no circumstances should any changes be made at this point.
